The Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research awards dissertation fieldwork grants of up to $25,000 to doctoral students conducting research that advances anthropological knowledge. There is no preference for methodology, research location, topic, or subfield, and the Foundation particularly welcomes proposals integrating two or more subfields. Grants are nonrenewable and do not cover institutional overhead. Deadlines are May 1 and November 1 each year, with the portal opening two months before each deadline and decisions delivered approximately six months later.
