The Newberry Library's Newberry Consortium in American Indian and Indigenous Studies (NCAIS) Faculty Fellowship supports faculty from NCAIS member institutions, with preference given to early-career scholars working on projects in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. The fellowship carries a stipend of $5,000 per month for four to nine months; fellows may be in continuous or intermittent residence at the Newberry or work entirely offsite using digital or other collections. Recipients are required to be in residence at the Newberry during the annual NCAIS Graduate Student Conference, held the second weekend of February, and are expected to mentor students and help shape the conference keynote. The application deadline is January 3.
