§ I·Posting Excerpt

The Department of Sociology in the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin is building a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non-tenure track positions teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses during 2026-27. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent on student enrollment and the availability of funding. Appointments are normally made on a semester-by-semester basis, though a year-long or multi-year appointment is sometimes made, and appointments are renewable annually or multi-annually depending on funding, position and performance. Salary depends on position and qualifications. A Ph.D. in Sociology is preferred and previous college-level teaching experience is required. Interested applicants submit a curriculum vitae, the names and contact information for three references, and teaching materials including a teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations and sample syllabi to the department chair. The application window runs to 15 August 2027.
