UC Merced anticipates appointing Associate Instructors in Philosophy for lower- and upper-division courses in academic year 2026-27. The Associate Instructor grades, attends lectures, leads discussion sections where appropriate and holds office hours. Appointments run 25 to 50 percent time, may last up to one semester, and start in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027; salary is based on an annual full-time figure of $85,898 at Salary Point 6 of Table 19. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in the subject area or a related field, maintain a qualifying grade point average, be academically eligible under UC Merced's graduate policies, and be a registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence; one year of teaching assistant experience is an additional qualification.
